Ron, I see no comparison to Russia unless you want to class the Russian Mafia in the role of the English.

Used the potato famine to convey another instance of people needlessly starving to death. And, regardless of surviving, the extreme misery and torment remains.

Sure, though not operating from quite the same basis, the English shipped available food OUT of Ireland. That's criminal enough for me. I favor public beheading. How about you? Maybe a little of the same they used on the Scotsman, Wallace -- draw and quarter.

There will be food available in Russia because if nothing else, we'll send it to them, but we better start soon. Get the cameras there to shoot the starving children and put it on Nightline!!

Russia continues to refuse any food stores from the West...to this point. But, true: As they request it, we will supply it.

As far as evidence of a U.S. recession goes, I must ignore what Reuters keeps regurgitating from the Federal Reserve and watch the US dollar closely. And, as I mentioned here long ago, Germany.

It is difficult to see any probability of the American juggernaut incurring critical damage. But it wouldn't be the first arrogant behemoth sunk by an evident yet unregarded attack.

By the way, our Energy Secretary is in Mexico at the moment. Next stop: Venesuela. I had to read that in a Mexican newspaper.
