I haven't been able to verify anthing. But remember that the intial SparQ announcement was preceded by days of huge volume like we saw here today. They succesfully kept that product all through development.

I tend to think that maybe Syquest is co-branding a DVD-RAM drive with some other manufacturer. Or maybe Sony/HP/Philip's DVD+RW drive which is coming out for Christmas. But this is all speculation.
