Mr. Perkins, you noted that "NYRR may have the most efficient and expedient method, but if there is no marketing to make potential customers aware of its presence and readiness to perform such product movement, then the phone doesn't ring. It rings at the desk of the dispatcher for Joe's All-Night Trucking and Pizza Emporium, because Joe did some marketing".
Would you concede that today's announcement is a major step (or two or three) forward in marketing? The CEO will be presenting the message that "Because of our unique car-floating operation, we are able to provide dedicated or dock-side rail service to any pier-side
warehouse throughout New York Harbor. And so the message to all high-volume, high-tonnage freight shippers, is: You don't
have to be rail-served to receive DIRECT RAIL SERVICE!,''

''My presentation tomorrow will focus on the various methods the Cross Harbor Railroad staff has developed, and now implemented, to facilitate the movement of cocoa beans in bulk, as opposed to palletized bags, often weighing in excess of 150
lbs. each. I am convinced that once this system becomes fully operational, the shipper will realize optimally improved
cost-efficiencies, as a result of the streamlined handling of the product, and the resultant time-savings accrued. It is my strong
sense that this improved system, along with the continued help and cooperation of our partners in this enterprise, will facilitate
expansive growth in the handling of this commodity, for the near and sustained future,'' he concluded.

It should be noted that this coming Monday, October 26, the Railroad will be placing two dedicated car-floats as part of this
growing transport of cocoa. One will be situated at Red Hook for American Warehouse, and the other, at the South Brooklyn
Marine Terminal, otherwise known as the New York City Cocoa Port, for Commodity Storage, Inc.

You know, I particularly like the statement he made of "expansive growth". Of course this is benefited by strong marketing, and press releases like today's are right on target.
