rob, so you are a spinmeister too, huh? yoda has taught you well. may the farce be with you. ;-)

your logic is like saying it is ok to give humanitarian aid to iraq b/c the money won't be spent on weapons. however, the money that would have gone for food if there wasn't any humanitarian aid will no go for weapons ;-) duh, same difference when all is said and done except for accounting entries.

the california legislature pulled that same nonsense when they said everyone should vote for a state lottery and all the money would go to schools. well, it did. however, the gen'l fund school money - equal to the lottery money (imagine the coincidence of that ;-) - was taken away?

the net effect was no net increase for the school budgets. it was wonderful marketing, albeit, very misleading. but, that wasn't an accident, was it?

neither is what ibm is doing and neither was your post.
