Dear John, doubt is a very interesting subject in terms of the Path.
Apparently it is part of the path. Without it, maybe you aren't even ON the path.

For instance. John the Baptist. Doesn't want to baptise Jesus as he recognizes something in the spirit realm so powerful and holy about Jesus that indeed he KNOWS this is the promised Messiah. But Jesus just simply tells him that he must, and that they both must be obedient to God in Heaven and then they get slammed with the physical manifestation of the HOly Spirit and God speaks out-loud, FROM HEAVEN, and a lot of people standing around hear it.

So, all goes well until he, John, is sitting in a fetid and horrible stinking little dark room, waiting for a drunken pagan monster to please his satanic little stepdaughter by chopping off John's head.

Not too fast or painless, I would almost be sure. John, I would almost be sure, was well aware of that.

Read what John does. He sends a message to Jesus, in a state of total and abject human depression, obviously, asking, "Are you really Him? Or should we have waited for another."

This is JOhn, who SAW the HOly Spirit in physical form descend upon Jesus and HEARD GOD SPEAK FROM HEAVEN AT THE SAME INSTANT.

In human abject depression, he wonders if he was fooled.

All Jesus sent back was, well, you know. Then JOhn was beheaded, and Jesus was very, very depressed. Then came Jesus' time Himself.

And we know what happened even with the Lord Himself, and if there are not enough lessons there to get humans through their small moments of doubt, well, there was a very, very high price paid for such lessons.

I think that until the abominal entertainments that we are pummeled with in every house of God are done away with, and people once again return to timeless communions with God in their times together that the HOly Spirit is a shadow we can hardly grasp except by miracle.

But no one is complaining about it, or raising a voice in opposition to the "leadership" leading us into the "new thing God is doing"...Yeah. Sure.

And God isn't doing too much about it either, as He never does. Free Will. I guess it will stay like that for awhile, GOD FORBID. Christians will fill themselves with rawkus rock and roll at rock concert decibles, drowning out all sound except screaming lead singers and pulsating bass guitars and drums, instead of the HOly Spirit, and we'll just have to see how long that can sustain a nation.

I realized that we are doomed when the Lord showed me that the only place on earth a Christian can hear the holy and annointed music of the human voice raising the soul to places above the earth is for 15 seconds DURING AN EXPENSIVE AUTOMOBILE ADVERTISEMENT!!!!!!!!!!

I rest my case. I just left a roomful of 20 year olds, off and on with the Lord, jive-A's all of them, trying so desperately to hold on from rock concert followed by prayer to rock concert followed by prayer, and the bongo player drowning out even the guitars was finally enough for me. There was nothing but a room of hopeful semi-lost people trying to find some inspiration from 6 people who were basically jamming to music using various "spiritual" phrases and words. When I think of what has been lost in all this, I can barely put it in words.

They take their lead from every church in the city. This cannot take us all anywhere but down. I could not be more serious. For those who can't see it I can only say, "That's very sad..."

And about these things I can say little else, as this says it all.
