There is no real info to "write off." Everything is just pure rumor and conjecture at this point. But what cannot be written off is the massive volume that SYQT is enjoying. There is something going on.

And my guesses are in order of probability:

1. co-branding of a DVD-RAM drive and media (perhaps Syquest brand CD-R/RW media as well**)

2. An actual self-produced DVD-RAM drive. Resources meant for production of 4.7Gig Quest could have been directed towards a DVD project.

3. real buyout talks
