The problem(s) are that the G-lite - the first of the standards is just getting ironed out today. There are still a lot of standards to be worked out. Second, the price of production is still high, complexity is high, xDSL is not a common term, less than $50.00 per month for fast access is not a reality, loading text based web pages real fast then spending a lot of time reading each page is not compelling. It's gonna take a while. The speed must become ubiquitous so that the content providers have a reason to change the content to accommodate the new medium (hear Chicken @ Egg). It will come, but content needs to require it, folks need to desire it, then economies of scale will be achieved by these companies to make them profitable.
