Look at these recent stats:
Price- Shares- Mkt.Cap- #Visitors- Value/Visitor-
Monthly Revenue(From E-com+Ads)per Visitor-
Price/Sales Multiple
Yahoo $127 93.7M $11,900M 26.1M $455.94 $.49 78
Lycos $31.75 37.1M $1,178M 17.6M $66.93 $.42 13.2
Excite $39.63 50.9M $2,017M 16.5M $122.24 $.64 15.9
Infoseek $23.63 31.5M $744M 11M $67.64 $.49 11.5
Go2Net $16 5.91M $95M 5M $19 $.08 19.8
What does this show? GNET has by far the lowest revenue per visitor
of all the major Internet search engines/portal sites.
As their ad sales increase, their price/sales ratio will drop.
As I view these numbers, GNET has the most upside potential,
in terms of revenue per site user, of any of these sites.
If GNET were able to derive about the same revenue per
visitor as the other sites (~$0.45) they would have 5x the current revenue.
They just need to execute. We'll get more info when they release
their quarterly results next month.
