Yargnad - Yes, the ethernet connection you reference on the Presario is the 'cable ready' port. Buying Cabletron would not give CPQ control of networking, but could help them with packaged solutions. Cisco is the big leader in enterprise level networking, and Lucent is going to give them a hell of a fight. From what I know about Cabletron, I hear they have good technology, but had marketing problems (in addition to brilliant marketing by Cisco) that got them to where they are today. CS's stock is cheap, and CPQ could easily buy them. However, they have already committed to buying gear from CS (as part of the DEC deal on both sides). Bottom line, it could be a good deal for CPQ in their quest for end to end solutions, and the price looks good, but the question is how CPQ stock would react to 'body blow number two'....
