YOu aren't wrong, but you aren't 100% right either. DMT is a modulation method - it can be used for anything. The European DAB (digital audio broadcast) uses the same idea for broadband wireless - but with a different acronym (OFDM - orthogonal FDM). You can use DMT for coax, and there have been proposals at 802.124 for this (eg from AWARE with their DWMT enhanced DMT). But popular wisdom (right or wrong) has not been convinced, and most people are using single carrier ie QAM. r
