Are we seeing a trend starting?

Recently there has been a lot of news about the big producers picking up the smaller mining companies.

Example, Newmont is buying into ARP for US 5 million, Franco Nevada to put up US 15M for base metals junior.

It looks like the majors are getting their foot in the door to mop up inventory of possible gold producers with potential ore body situations with previous blocked out ore reserves.

Brings to mind Latitude and there properties:
Kilgore, a former Echo Bay gold property, with 417,000 ounces proven and a 6 hole drill program complete with assays due.
Miller Mountain, which is 275,000 ounces proven.
Blue Hill Creek, 230,000 ounces proven still open in all directions.

Is Latitude a potential inventory target?

With Russia buying gold to back economy, and 15-70% of EQ dollar being backed by gold in Jan 99, are we seeing a trend starting? The New Year could be very interesting
