That is an interesting thought. Sequent generally prices these "SERVERS" in the multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars price range - which is precisely where the Alpha 21264 servers are priced.

So, the performance per dollar (tpmc) would be very interesting. I'm sure that data will be available once these machines reach the production stage.

You are right - 32 XEONS - pumping along at 450 MHz will be a sight to see. I wonder if Sequent is using their own chip sets or uses the 450NX to tie together 4 XEONS and then links 8 groups of 4 XEONS in their ccNUMA configuration.
