Jim,

It would be incredible (especially to Kumar's boss) if AMD shipped 1 million K6-2 400s in Q4. If they come anywhere close to that, the stock could easily be back in the $30 range in January.

I hear CNBC trash the analysts all the time. The funniest thing they do is show a bunch of pinguins jumping into the water, one after another, AFTER a company reports in a direction opposite to what the street was expecting and with all the analysts changing their view all at once, not based on their research, but based on the facts that they didn't know, and with Kernan and Faver saying, "there goes Smith Barney, there goes Merrill Lynch, there goes ..."

Also, CNBC reported that Intel will be selling the PII 350 for $180 and AMD will be selling the K6-2 380 for $199. Sh*t, a PII 350 for $180!!! Who would have thunk it? I thought the scheduled October 25th price cut was going to bring the PII 350 down to $210. I guess Intel underestimated AMD's ability to get out the higher speed grades. Actually, they have underestimated AMD in a great many ways and will be paying for it through 1999.

Pravin.
