None of the possible explanations that I can think of right off the bat include Mr Sylver having much confidence in the future of the company.
Not if he valued 25 cents more than a share of its stock.

What was Mr Sylver Sr doing and/or holding at that time? ... well, Mr Sylver Sr's company Titan Investments, I mean - the one that got the 1-cent shares, and that is based in Antigua.
