I agree except Apple announced today that it may declare a loss of $100 to $150 million for the last quarter of 96. This represents a loss of $0.80 to $1.20 per share in one quarter, which translates to an overall lower loss per share in 96 than last year's -$6.59. I feel that 97 will definetely be a better year for Apple. New products, 500 Mhz PC's, better operating system, competitive pricing and new markets, coupled with a strong US economy may lead to higher sales, unless Apple screws up again. I am sure on the long run the Apple products will eventually out-sell the Wintel products. It is just a matter of time. Intel is still with a CISC processor and limited in performance, Microsoft's operating systems cannot compare with UNIX based NextStep. With Java, the internet and platform independent solutions we will see a levelling of the plain field for all OS's and hardware. Apple, Sun, Digital, Silicon Graphics, etc. may all eventually eat away from Microsoft and Intel dominance of the consumer market. These are just wild guesses and I could be totally wrong.
