If a 400 MHz Pentium II or K6-2 is all that you need to run most software, then why is AMD going gung-ho with the K7? Two reasons: 1. Because they might be able to sell them at a high price. 2. MP capability, which may open up a new high margin market for them. AMD wants to get above the knee in the Intel price/performance curve. Scumbria
