Larry;

<<Growing popularity for devices that free users from desktop computers>>

If I am an indicator I thought I would mention that you count my nose in that popularity poll. I have put a palm pilot III on my Christmas list (a reasonably sure bet cause I am a very good boy).

Remember I made that three week round-the-worlder a few weeks ago? In addition I have been on the road every week since then on more local trips. And frankly, my much loved Dell notebook has nearly cut a crease in my shoulder and I have had a chronic neckache since the middle of that long trip.

I have a friend who travels with both. He has a specialised padded case that gives him the confidence to pack his notebook in his roll around luggage. That way he can set up internet access in his hotel room. But for the calls he makes and the briefcase, he only carries a palm pilot. He gave me a demo if the features of thiis incredibly useful device. I was especially interested in the interactivity with the PC. It works like a charm and I could see little that I could not do with it, (except for the occasional and more rare presentation)that I currently lug my laptop around to do. Maybe a palm pilot, (and several more shots of Voltaren), is just what the doctor ordered. Best price I have been able to get quoted here in S'Pore is $300.00. I'll wait until my wife puts on her Santa hat and buys one in K.L.

Best,
