Stephen, that high power optical amplifier is not for cable, cable is using low power 1550nm and 1310 nm transmitters, with EDFA's in them. The high power amplifiers are specifically designed for a telco company. I am trying to figure out who that customer is,I know they are installing systems in China for a PTT,but I also know that BellSouth and Sprint have tested their systems, and are ready to announce someone for FTTC installs. That amplifier is for FTTC not for MetroDWDM.
the HOA 7026 also has significant
applications in the access area of telephone
networks. In particular, for telephone
network operators who are rolling-out
fiber-to-the- curb (FTTC) architectures and
choose to offer video services, the HOA 7026
can provide the greater optical power
required for video delivery.
