Not in percentage - but in absolute terms

I was talking with my ML broker and I asked him to see if ASDV was making the top ten most up on the NASDAQ. Surprise, it was the #1 most up on the NASDAQ at 3:43 pm (trading around 25 bid). However, it was not even in the top 20 in terms of percent increase. There are many 1 or 2 dollar stocks which have a quarter spread. So if the stock moves up a quarter and someone buys at the ask, then you have a half dollar increase. This translates to a 25 to 50% increase for a 2 or 1 dollar stock. Hence, brokers have top ten in terms of absolute increase to filter out the low priced stocks with large (percentage wise) spreads. Thus, there was no stock up more than ASDV today on the NASDAQ in absolute (not percent) terms today as of 3:43 pm. Since ASDV closed near its high, I would not be surprised it it retained this title.

It'll have shown up on all the broker's screens and I think the momentum is likely to continue on Monday.
