I see where you are coming from now.. and I agree with you to some extent. Beyond that, however, Pirelli and NEC are diversified to a much larger degree, especially NEC, than CIEN will ever be in the next several years, and Cambrian is still doing some startup stuff on their venture, and they don't fit the everyday profile of a bandwidth multiplier (which is all the carriers can aclimatize themselves to now, from a proficiency standpoint, since they lack the elemental knowledge to go beyond this at this time).

I suppose, then, that CIEN is the largest of the brute force pure plays, to answer your question, that could pose a focused threat to LU's customer base looking for WDM. Whereas the otherdiversifieds would have to come in in some form of vertically integrated attack? You tell me...
