Bosco,

<<The real and only point I was making is that we are not going downhill recently>>

In fact, if we talk it down thoroughly enough we could fulfill our own prophecy. I think it is relatively safe to say that this is the first serious deflationary spiral we have seen. I have wondered lately just how much deflation occurs because of mind set. We have had several discussions here about Japan and the tight fisted citizen that won't spend. They have no relationship to the tree bark eating villager in Indonesia. And the Tigers all howled like crazy that the series of attacks on their respective currencies were unfounded in real economic terms. Any truth in that? How much of the world's economic woes could we say are rooted in percepton, and how much is based on real declining wealth? Where does one end and the other one start? My thoughts race. The lines blur. I get a headache.
Best,
Stitch
