Denise, if the quality of your speaking matches that of your writing, you must have made an excellent speech at Toastmasters. I have a friend who is a member and one of these days I intend to join.

I assume the Canadian stock you may be interested in is LGS.a (Montreal), which I've been talking about recently. Re brokers for Canadian stocks, I have a Canadian account that I use for banking and investing in Canada because my job takes me to Toronto and Montreal frequently for weeks at a time. If your broker can't buy Canadian stocks, try Schwab.

Good catch on the CA research. You really do a thorough research analysis and know what to look for.

Re Japan, I intuitively agree with your comment that "Japan's famous economy was built on the hard work ethic and innovativeness of the older Japanese who lived through World War II. Unfortunately, I don't see the majority of their children as having been brought up with that same work ethic." But can't the same be said for many Americans? Remember the 60's and 70's in the States? Anyway, I gather you aren't bottom fishing Japanese stocks? Who knows where the bottom is and when it will be reached? I'm just trying to diversify a little outside the U.S. I've also considered Korea and India as possible turnarounds.

Chris
