Hi Wily "Does the communications business really need off-chip RAM?" The direction it (the comm industry) is going: YES Look at the Nokia Communicator for instance, you can log on to the net with it, and then you start needing a lot of memory. Current designs of "Handys" (hand held mobile communication devices) are looking at on board TV; Radio; turninng on the cooker remotely, direct debiting, stock quotes, E-Mails and speach recognition. So the answer is a big YES. But there will be an emphasis on very low power. Regards Alan
