An even better argument than ad hominem is ad baculam.

That means, "the argument according to the stick," or "argument to the stick."

Using that argument, you reason as follows: "If you do not do as I say, I am going to beat the hell out you. You do not wish to have the hell beat out of you. Ergo, you will do as I say."

The argument is logically fallacious, but it is best not to try to point out that error to the policeman.
