There really is some humour in the story, imo. As challenger Byron (Low Tax) Looper plots his campaign strategy he says to himself, "hmmm...I could raise the abortion issue&#151taxes&#151state education funding&#133 "Nah. I'll jes kill 'im and take office. Nobody will ever notice!" Details are sketchy and although police haven't found any eyewitnesses, Looper's car was seen at Burk's farm the morning of the murder. Then Looper disappeared for four days. Okay, maybe you think that's a little conspicuous with only a week-and-a-half left 'til elections. But Looper didn't.
