Yes that is intriguing., the S.African dyke systems have variable dips., extensions., pinching off., swelling., blows., the theory is plausible no doubt., and as an open minded person., I appreciate your imput as well. The relative uniformity of thickness over such a widespread area would indicate to me as well that this is not a conventional dyke system in the classic sense of the word., if one studies the variances of garnet assemblages in some of the S.African systems he can as well see some irregularity between sister deposits., but one glaring fact exists., and that is the relative uniformity of consistancy once the parameters are established of economics., it is very plausible that this system will be a unique system in its own right., hopefully seeing that the garnet assemblages mirrors to some degree the Mir pipe in Russia., I developed the theory early on that the system would produce high diamond values., ore values., based on the similiarity of perfect octahedral diamonds and large pyropes., which were a trademark in the Mir. Knowing the skeptical nature of your posts Teevee it is gratifying to know you feel there is some substantial potential yet to unfold at Snap Lake. Thanks Sincerely George J. Tromp |
