Where the hell are the morality police? Still looking up Clinton's axxhole? Nahhh... They're too busy lowering interest rates so that the big money center banks can absorb/offset the losses from their risk-laden loan portfolios. Technically speaking, the Fed did not use public money to directly bail out LTCM (the notorious hedge fund that leveraged $2 billion into a position controlling $100 billion+ in assets.) However, they have lowered the price that LTCM's creditors have to pay for borrowing from the Federal Reserve discount window which has a similar impact and that money is now an obligation of the United States through the bonds that are issued against this debt. Hope I'm wrong, but I see financial band-aids being applied to a financial compound fracture. Regards, Ron
