Hey rudedog or anybody else,

I'm having a small problem with my Compaq Presario 1075 (built -in 33.6 modem) and I was wondering if anybody knows how I can fix it.

I just bought a new Viking 56K PC Card, yet it doesn't seem to like my Presario. I can connect roughly 20% of the times I dial and I usually connect at 42,000 bps. Most of the times I get disconnected and Windows 95 tells me to connect my ISP. Well I contacted my ISP and they said nothing was wrong. I contacted Viking and the sales rep and I went step by step to set up my modem. The modem works.

I know something must be wrong with my Compaq because the modem works GREAT on my Toshiba laptop. I connect 100% of the time at 115,200 bps with this machine. I can't figure it out. I've tried everything in the book (disabling the internal 33.6 modem, removing the 33.6 modem, etc...) yet I can't get it to work on my Compaq. I've tried getting help on the Compaq forum site, but they seem to be ignoring me. Does anybody kow how to get the PC Card to work on my Presario laptop??
