Coby, I've been known to make money doing this options stuff. <G>
Actually, it probably isn't as complicated as I make it sound. I made my fortune, such as it is, by inventing, developing, ripping off from others and managing/trading low risk/moderate to high return option strategies for institutions. Sometimes they were tax flim-flam, sometimes they were capital gains intensive and most often they were maximum income generators. I have pretty much walked the waterfront in this area and have only fallen off the pier a few hundred times. <G>
Don't feel bad if you don't get it immediately. Sometimes I have to sit down and say "I'm doing what?!!!!" <G> And I've been an options geek for 30 years. But when I look at my peers on the income side taking on brain dead mortgage derivatives to get an extra hundred basis points over the long bond, while my strategies are lower risk and give me 1000 extra basis points over the long bond, I have to say these headaches and the gray hair are worth it. And I still believe my 90/10 strategy, most of which I ripped off from mentors and even people who didn't like me, is the best generator of capital gains at super low risk, in the world.
I just wish I didn't spend all the profits I make. Hmmmm, maybe that Paul Krugman guy has a point about demand. <VBG>
