Green,
I apologize for perhaps reading too deeply into and misinterpreting your earlier post. Your concerns are shared by many... not because of facts, but rather because of the "unknown." As I stated earlier, IMO getting the CompactConnections website fully functional is a top priority and it is being completed rapidly. Please don't forget that the PR about the website was not an advertisement to the public to come on over and start buying and, additionally, it was made quite clear to everyone that went to the site or even read this thread that the site was in beta form. Perhaps it was an error to announce it at all, but it seems to me that TSIG is caught between a rock and a hard place! Shareholders scream that there really is no website... and then when they put it up before it is completed... perhaps for shareholder input or perhaps to placate shareholders... the shareholders start screaming some more. Some companies do put out PRs regarding things that are in the works... Microsoft being an example with their announcements about Windows 2000 and Office 2000, etc., but how many, if any, shareholders call Bill Gates to ask when will the PR be coming out with the official release date... that is, of course, if they can even speak to Bill Gates or anyone in upper management?
There are certain things that I accept:
(1) The website is almost fully functional and ready to roll. (2) An advertising campaign is about to begin. (3) The "card" is a "cash cow" for TSIG. (4) Many "deals" and alliances are in the works. (5) CompactConnection is only one division of TSIG... there are more things than CDs that can be sold over the internet and don't forget the teleservices part of the business. (6) The employees of TSIG (from top to bottom) are all excited, enthusiastic and motivated and giving 110% of themselves to help make this company a success. (7) The bills and payrolls are being paid... in cash (or should I say by corporate check).
However, you, as a professional money manager and businessperson are also well aware of certain facts of life:
(1) TSIG cannot and, IMO, has not hyped their stock (much to the dismay of many) with PRs of no substance. While we do our DD certain things do come out, but TSIG has only stated what they anticipated timewise and, as you well know, with most companies (especially those dealing in software) these are just estimates. "Murphy" is always around and alive and well. The important thing is that they are moving forward and positively. (2) The release of any information about "deals" and alliances close to culmination could only, IMO, have a negative effect... similar to what is going on now... and any release of information before the final signatures are done could "kill" the deal. I'm sure you are aware of that.
So, in summation, I now ask you a question. You stated:
<< I don't expect them to tell us "what could be" but I sure expect them to communicate with us why things that THEY promised are delayed or not done properly. >>
This certainly isn't press release material so how would you suggest they do this?
Best always,
