Trey, Re: R&D. I had the same thought a few months ago but have changed my opinion since then & reserve the right to do so tomorrow. :} As an investor Im not fond of the idea given the current picture but I now think that Wstl is in way too deep & has no choice in the matter. They have already committed to the R&D avenue as a means of growth & revs. As for the Pennies firing people I think maybe they have done somewhat already & Id hate to see more rearranging. I personally would hate to see the Penny family lose a fortune in the modem business as Mr. Hazes has. A very big risk IMHO. I see a huge need for equity investment for this company. Im assuming that mgnt. will hold the course in doing the R&D as stated. I aslo think that (even though he says things I would rather he not) MZ isn't fully to blame in some of Wstl's miss givings. After all, he is just (probably a poor choice of words on my part) the CEO whereas Robert Gaynor is the chairman & CEO. He would really be running the show ? and reporting to the board of directors via MZ. Even he too would be one of the dogs in the back window when Mr. Simon or Penny talk. BTW I also think that Mr. Nelson would be instrumental in running the day to day.
