ACTUALLY Much of the world's birth rate is spiraling downwards and is well below replacement..includng North America, much of Europe, Japan China (I believe?) and even parts of India (Kerala)..someone has written a superb book on the Population Implosion which I regret that I cannot remember the Author..I will search for it....perhaps someone else knows the Book?...The way I see it we have short 30 to 40 year problem because of increased life span, not high birth rates and an outdated Industrial age Energy and Transportation system..we need to very quickly accelerate the production and use world wide of renewable, relatively benign energy technologies and similarly communication and distribution technologies that allow the reduction in individual transportation.

..we are making great strides but simply must accelerate it!
