In my humble opinion this deal will indeed be consummated. Next comes the LG/Hyundai - Samsung swap, where Samsung prevails in Electronics and Hyundai in Automotive... What's the big deal here? Monopolies?? In ROK that may be the case, but so what? Without the buoyancy of the IMF, this is but daily worldwide competition, and the Koreans just like the Japanese, are just as human and vulnerable as any of the Western corporate entities competing with them. Striving for market share alone does not win the war, unless you have access to unlimited funds.
