I have read in several auto magazines that Nissan could be a possible takeover target but they also mentioned Honda as another possibility. Toyota is solid. Very solid automaker and I'm impressed with the fact that out of all the other Japanese automakers, Toyota is willing to produce far larger displacement motors in their vehicles. With the recent news of Toyota using the supercharger designed by Toyota Racing Development in several of the truck models and the new Solara model, Toyota might gain some of the generation-X market share that Honda/Acura seem to dominate so much in. Even then, with the 'hip' image Honda/Acura have, it will still be hard to gain a large portion of the generation-x market share. Depending on your time horizon, OBD-II can be considered a short term problem for Honda and as long as Honda continue to appeal to the 'import hot-rod' demographic this automaker should continue to do well.
