Re: VMS 7.2

Michael,

Perhaps you just got a pre-release of 7.2 and forgot to tune your galactic global sector's sysgen param. Oh well better luck next time.

Sorry Michael we do not do VMS upgrades! Perhaps you missed what we use the computers for? I could just see our Manager now, excuse me General Starbuck, but we just upgraded our Operating System, so you'll have to cancel all launches including John Glenn's Return to space aboard Space Shuttle Discovery while we re-verify the Computers, according to the Air Forces specifications, re-certification will only take 6 months and we will also require support from the rest of the Eastern Range during testing, you should be back in the launch business by May 1999 at the latest. :^)

BTW: We have already hung one System Manager for attempting to run SYSGEN.

You don't mess with a system that launches Rockets and Space Shuttles,
Perhaps you didn't know our customer is the US Government, they just build a new system, and continue to launch with the old system until the new on is built, then run parallel Op's for 6 months, before scrapping the old Pig Iron.

In all Seriousness, I'm not trying to be sarcastic, we provide Range Safety, we blow things up should a Rocket or Space Shuttle deviate from launch constraints (if they don't blow up on their own first).

Checkout John Glenn's Return to Space this Thursday.
