Putting on cedar shingles is one of the most satisfying jobs I know. I am glad that you did not do anything more serious than it sounds, anyway, when you fell off the roof. But do be careful. A friend of mine shattered both heels by sliding off the roof a year ago cleaning gutters. You must have a good back if that's what it takes to put it out. I am ready for an energy crisis myself, with a couple of cords of mostly hardwood. But it looks as if OPEC and others are determined to impoverish themselves to keep Americans roaring pointlessly about on hard, dry pavements in the 4WD sports utility vehicles. Also, I have a pile of money tied up in oil royalty trusts. What we need is a combination market crash and energy crisis to cheer us all up!
