Capital Automotive REIT (CARS) completed $149
million in acquisitions in the latest quarter and a total of
$413 million in acquisitions in the latest nine months.

As of Sept. 30, the company owned 96 properties.
Capital Automotive believes it is positioned for strong
performane in 1999.

In addition, the company's board of trustees declared a
cash dividend of 27 cents a share for the latest quarter.
The dividend is payable Nov. 20 to shareholders of
record Nov. 9.
