Mark,

Another point about brand recognition. It isn't only the Pentium name but the box name. The direct channel (DELL, GATE, Micron E.) has been growing rapidly (actually downright booming for the last several years) at the expense of the traditional big boys. People are asking for these PC's by name and they have built good brand recognition. These companies (show above in order of size) continue to grow significantly. As long as companies like these and others don't offer CYRX or AMD chips, the odds of a PC being sold with a CYRX or AMD chip remains relatively small, getting smaller. Some people don't believe that "don't bite the hand that feeds you" politics exist in business....they say " they can't do this or that....". Well, covert pressures do exist between distributors and suppliers in corporate America. I think Intel has a lot of influence on whether or not some of the tier 1 vendors are willing to carry CYRX or AMD products.

To be honest, if I did see DELL or GATE start offering CYRX or AMD I would view this as a concern.
