E...further to your line of thinking. It has been my experience that when a major has a foothold in a project(ABX's 40 %) that it is unusual for a second major to get involved. If a junior owns the majority of a project and needs more money, then it is OK for 2 or more companies to offer financing.

I maintain that the Lundin's were not happy with ABX's complacency and went shopping. They could have not picked a better company (NEM) to antagonize Barrick. The Andean mountain play may represent over 20 million ounces to ABX and they have to be looking at ARP very carefully.
