Intel's earnings are quite nice, especially since they even surprised themselves with last quarter's blowout result. Unfortunately, the sad fact is that the market is less concerned with absolute earings than it is with relative performance. And the bad news for Intel is that revenues are staying FLAT while profit margins are trending DOWN. In the long run, this does not add up to a stock price that goes UP.

Don't bother cherrypicking data points to refute me. I'm talking about trends. Maybe Intel will put together a couple more good quarters like the last and shake out of the rut. If it does, and it can convince the market that it's sustainable, the stock will soar.
