Dow Jones News Service via Dow Jones

FREMONT, Calif. (Dow Jones)--SyQuest Technology Inc. (SYQT) unveiled the
SyQuest small computer system interfact, or SCSI, 1-gigabyte drive.

In a press release Monday, the company said the SCSI, which will be available
in November, enables graphic artists and production personnel to load client
projects on an individual cartridge, run those programs off the drive, and then
exchange and distribute files.

The company also said it plans to begin shipping the SparQ USB 1 Gigabyte
drive in November next month.

SyQuest, which makes and sells removable cartridge hard drives, said the
drives will sell for $249 each.
