Money Daily for Monday's subject was "The Check is in the Email." I Emailed a copy of it to Tom Hughes to see how it will affect Betting Inc.
In part, it goes like this:
"...But now a new paperless system for sending bills and returning payments may finally give online banking some momentum. In Florida, First Union Corp. (www.firstunion.com), the Charlotte-based bank, has set up a website where its customers have been receiving and paying their telephone and electric bills from BellSouth and Florida Power and Light since earlier this month. In New York City, Con Edison, which serves more than 3 million customers, has been testing a digital billing and payment website for a few days, and hopes to offer the service to all of its customers after the holidays. If enough merchants embrace such digital systems, paying the monthly bills is going to get a whole lot easier, and some companies are going to make a killing by offering the service. Are you ready for ******* checking?"
