Here's an interesting first-hand description of the BrainForest pouch from the TCBG thread of Raging Bull:

Would someone please post this to SI (where I just lurk) Thanks.

Just saw the new BrainForest fruitpunch package(a sample from Cliffstar). The artwork is pretty impressive and it is now on the outside of the package. The package I am looking at is the new "legal" one. The first sample I saw a few months ago you had to look through the front of the package to see it. This is much better.

I still haven't tried the drink, but to me it doesn't matter. The money to be made here is in the packaging of private label. And from what I hear EVERYBODY is jumping on board to use this package for their own brands, nobody wants to be left out and needs something to compete with Kraft.

This is just my opinion but this looks like the MAC vs the PC story. Kraft packaging (the MAC story) is keeping their package close to their chest and why not they currently dominate the market. TCBG (the PC story) is letting anybody who wants to partner with their package do so and will make money in the process. Who will be the big winner a couple years down the road? It may take a few months but I think we will be shocked when we find out the volume of packages that will be used other companies.
