Dan, You're too quick to give Dessauer credit. Sure, he had some winners along the way. But remember, until recently, we have been in the longest, strongest bull market in the history of the stock market. He recommended a lot of stocks, and some of them had to go up. But considering how strong the market was, and how many good stocks there were, why did he have to steer us into the likes of Comshare and Pokphand and urge REPEATED buying into those stocks? How come he doesn't STOP and rethink his premises occasionally, especially when things aren't going well? He never changes his mind until it's too late, until the maximum number of subscribers have been burned.
Can you think of one instance in which Dessauer alerted us to a problem at a company BEFORE the stock plunged? Has he ever saved us from anything? Has he ever gotten us out in time? Just days before LSI took its recent plunge (it has had many plunges)Dessauer was talking positively about it, Asia wasn't hurting them, no glut of their chips, etc. and then there was the earnings warning (blamed on Asia) and swoosh, down it went. He was still bragging about his success with SFA until their earnings warning took them down. Look at PMRX. Here he was supposed to be in tight with David Whats-his-name, in the know. But their mixup took him completely by surprise as well.
What good is his information if it takes you head-on into every downdraft that comes down the pike? Just name one exception.
Dessauer is no market seer. He's just an optimist, and a reckless optimist at that. Buy FFS at 9 because, after all, the trees are still growing. Buy Pokphand at 12 because he wound up with knuckle soup the last time he was in China. Buy Comshare because Wally has to get the price up before he can retire.
However, the biggest issue for me is the ethical one. He has been evasive about his record, selectively reporting his results; he has been caught lying (saying that he made money with Fletcher Paper, for instance) and he is a real spin doctor when it comes to his failures and mistakes. He is worthy of no one's trust. Again, for those interested, my email address is firsky@hotmail.com. (Firsky is my dog)
