Eric - that's very interesting and of course you're right - I guess the price was held quite artificially until 1971. But the point I'm making is this - in constant dollars (i.e. eliminate inflation altogether) has gold gone up? You know the old saw about an once of gold being able to buy you a good suit - well now you need at least two ounces of gold. E
