How do you feel about long straddles on a volatile stock? I realize the upside is limited by playing both sides.And I am aware that the risk is in losing on both ends.

When buying a long straddle is it generally better to close out one side once the stock has started to move, thereby reducing the cost of the straddle (but in effect making it a straight long option play with an additional premium for deciding on direction) or to just wait it out until expiration?
