Solaris is still not as easy to configure as NT. There are not as yet the broad based applications available but perhaps they are comming. I am still trying to configure my Solaris serial port to connect me to the Internet so I can download and install Netscape. I first have to find a devise driver for my SCSI CD-ROM (which is available for LINUX and I have been told will soon be available for SOLARIS). My NT system continues to work fine and with the latest Service pack 4, the system seems more stable. NT Workstation 4.0 configures very easy and works with all my hardware. Linux Gains Application Momentum (http://www.techweb.com/wire/story/TWB19981026S0025) ===================================================================== Maybe this new release of Solaris 7.0 will achieve the look and feel of NT. Sunw is still one year behind NT for making Solaris "easy to use" and "easy to install". It appears that Linux will establish a standard application suite (see article above) that SUNW could make available to SOLARIS users. EKS
