As long as companies like these and others don't offer CYRX or AMD chips, the odds of a PC being sold with a CYRX or AMD chip remains relatively small, getting smaller....To be honest, if I did see DELL or GATE start offering CYRX or AMD I would view this as a concern.

Put yourself in Gateway's shoes. Suppose you could make a deal with AMD to get exclusive rights to all K6 output for use in a new notebook. Would you risk alienating Intel? The prize would be the #1 position in notebooks, displacing Toshiba and Compaq. It seems tempting to me, particularly since Intel would face antitrust wrath if they cut off Gateway's desktop CPU supply.
