ME SYMBOL: JLB AND CELTIC MINERALS LIMITED ASE SYMBOL: CME OCTOBER 27, 1998 Jilbey Exploration and Celtic Minerals: Joint Venture With Leader Mining Terminated HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--Jilbey Exploration Ltd. ("Jilbey") and Celtic Minerals Limited ("Celtic") announce the termination of their joint venture with Leader Mining International Inc. ("Leader") on their Voisey's Bay west and south properties. Under the terms of the agreement, Leader was to earn a 50 percent interest by expending $1,100,000 over two and one half years with $250,000 being expended on or before September 30, 1998. The termination is based on Leader not meeting the required expenditure level by September 30, 1998. Jilbey and Celtic will review their options regarding the advancement of these properties which lie along the western extension of the Makhavinekh trend. As previously reported by news release dated June 25, 1998, a magnetic and gravity survey was completed which indicated the presence of an anomaly interpreted as being a troctolitic unit.
