Yes, that appears to be the case - but a *prospective investor* (or a shareholder, for that matter) who is interested in SNCG would look to SNCG's homepage to locate Investor Relations plus financials plus notices of interest to shareholders, etc. for information on the company and might not pay all that much attention to FQ's pages except to get an idea of what the product is all about.
So if you're looking to SNCG for information you ain't going to see the 888 number; you're only going to get the 800 number (freebie # that is) as well as the for-pay number. If you want to talk to Investor Relations are you going to do it on your dime or theirs? I'd warrant that 99% of serious prospective investors would opt for the 800 # only to find it isn't connected any longer!
The whole point of this too long exercise is that if you want to publicize a freebie # so as to facilitate communications with shareholders (their stated goal, remember) POST THE ONE THAT'S IN SERVICE, NOT THE ONE THAT'S DISCONNECTED!! That's just plain old common sense or less. To argue that a free call number is there but you have to go looking for it in the product information, not on the Corporate pages, is, shall we say, a great deal less than swift, IMO.
Besides, that 888 # is tied to ordering the product. One can easily infer that that's its only purpose so you might end up with some fulfillment person in Keokuk IA or even in Canada but not with the dept. you want to speak with. That would be IR which, in a well run company, stands for Investor Relations. Here it's I_________ R_________ (you fill in the blanks). ANother riposte |
